Visitations at the Supervised Visitation Center can be scheduled to occur seven days a week between the hours of 8:00am to 8:00pm. Visits are scheduled for a minimum of one hour and a maximum of three hours. Fees are set on a sliding scale.
A brief report is prepared after each visitation and will be submitted to the court, if requested by the court, or subpoenaed by a party. Initial in-person assessments for the custodial and non-custodial parents must take place prior to the scheduling of the first visit. There is a service charge for each non-custodial assessment and it will take approximately one hour to complete.
The Supervised Visitation Center has a secure outdoor recreation area for families to play and picnic during appropriate weather. The Center has three individual age-appropriate rooms: a.) infant to 2 year olds; b.) 2 to 5 year olds; and c.) 5 years old and up. Additional rooms are available for larger families. There is ample parking and a Lex-Tran bus stop less than half a block away at the corner of Devonport and Alexandria.
Less than two miles from the Brenda Cowan Center, parents can purchase food for the visit from McDonald's, Arby's, Clamatos (Mexican food), Long John Silver's, Pizza Hut, KFC, Wendy's, Kroger, Baskin-Robbins, and China King. Also, there is a Dollar General and a Dollar Store, if parents want to purchase toys or supplies.

When supervised visits are court-ordered to occur at the Brenda Cowan Supervised Visitation Center, please follow this procedure:
- Call the Supervised Visitation Center Coordinator, Christina Wagers, as soon as possible. If you reach the voicemail, leave a message with a phone number where you can be reached.
- The Initial Assessment will need to take place at the Brenda Cowan Center. It takes approximately one hour to complete. The Visiting Parent is responsible for a processing fee due at the time of the assessment. If both parents will be supervised visitors, both will need to complete individual assessments and both will need to pay a the fee. Visiting parent(s) will not be permitted to visit until an initial assessment has been completed.
- You must bring your picture ID for the initial assessment and all visits. No admission will be granted without proper identification.
- Fees must be paid at the start of the assessment and visits. Fees must be paid in cash or money order.
