Arnett Pritchett Place (APP) is a licensed personal care facility for women aged 65 years and older. It allows women the opportunity to maintain their independence while enjoying homelike surroundings. The home is a spacious, one-floor facility with sixteen private rooms, each with a half bath. The gracious living room has a fireplace and large screen TV. A large screened porch has access to a fenced yard.

In 1990, the Brenda D. Cowan Coalition for KY, Inc., (BCC) formerly known as the YWCA of Lexington, KY, completed a survey of seventeen surrounding counties in the Bluegrass Region to discover the advantages of creating a satellite office. The survey proved that Danville, KY, located in Boyle County, would not only gain from the services offered by the association, but the city of Danville would support the social service benefits offered by the organization.

Safe Alternatives is a satellite office of the Brenda D. Cowan Coalition for Kentucky, located in Richmond, KY. Safe Alternatives provides outreach services to victims/survivors of domestic violence and their families in Madison, Clark, Estill and Powell Counties.

Our message is spread by our Community Health Advisers, who are local women trained to talk to their friends, neighbors, family, and others in a friendly non-technical manner about how cancer screening can save lives.
